Chromebook 1:1

March 10, 2020

Davenport SD Families:

The CDC recommends that schools explore the possibility of alternative learning
experiences/online learning in the event of an extended school closure. Although, it
is highly unlikely that we close, we are at the very least doing our due diligence in
the event circumstances in our area change. We are providing a technology survey
which is asking questions to help us with our ongoing planning.

In addition, we are implementing a trial 1:1 Chromebook model in grades 6-12 to
help limit the spreading of germs, and provide for potential at home learning. If
needed in the future, we may pilot a K-5 model of sending home one Chromebook
per family.

Below you will find a family technology survey, technology agreement, and optional opt
out form we are asking all families in our district to complete and sign.

Please return the following by Thursday, March 12th to your homeroom or 1st
period teacher:
• ONE Technology Survey PER FAMILY
• ONE Chromebook User Agreement PER STUDENT

*If you choose to opt your student out of being able to take a Chromebook home,
please also send in the Chromebook Take Home Opt Out form.

Sincerely,
Davenport SD
